GLP-1 weight loss goal date calculator
Enter your current weight, your goal, and a weekly rate; the calculator returns the estimated date you would get there. A sustainable rate is commonly 1–2 lb (0.5–1 kg) per week. Real GLP-1 trajectories are not straight lines — loss is faster in the early months and flattens toward a plateau — so treat the date as a planning anchor, not a promise.

Picking a realistic rate
General guidance is a gradual 1–2 lb (about 0.5–1 kg) per week. For context, the trial averages work out to roughly 0.2–0.3% of body weight per week over a year-plus: semaglutide 2.4 mg averaged ~14.9% at 68 weeks (STEP 1), tirzepatide up to ~20.9% at 72 weeks (SURMOUNT-1). Faster sustained loss shifts more of what is lost toward muscle, which is the argument for pairing any of this with protein and resistance work.
Why this is an estimate
Weight loss on GLP-1 medication is front-loaded: dose titration, appetite change and water loss make early weeks faster, and a plateau is the normal end state, not a failure. A straight line through that curve lands close over a few months and drifts over a year. Re-run the estimate monthly from your current weight rather than trusting one date set at the start.
